If you’re interested in brushing up on your writing skills or thinking of becoming a journalist, join us February 7-8, 2015 for a media/journalism workshop at the Nation’s Mosque in Washington, D.C.

The workshop will be geared for beginners. Saturday’s agenda will include: The role and purpose of journalism; understanding the ‘Fourth Estate’; journalist code of ethics; basics of writing news stories; developing story ideas; basic of reporting; story standards; elements of really good stories; interviewing tips; and writing a press release.

After Saturday’s session participants will be required conduct an interview and write at least two paragraphs. On Sunday we’ll giving live assignments in the field/community. Participants will have the opportunity to have their work published in Muslim Journal. Registration is $ 25.00 per person.
